Walls / Tiling
Types of walls / tiling
The wall, or the area between lower and upper cabinets, completes the whole impression of the kitchen. You can choose from a wide range of variants.
Kitchen tiling and work tops made from natural stones (granite, marble, etc.) are very popular due to their specific features, aesthetic value, low maintenance and nearly unlimited life.
A perfect imitation of natural material with better features, e.g. Corian, HI-MACS, STARON, etc. You will appreciate it not only thanks to its resemblance to natural stone, but also for its easy maintenance. Another advantage is joint-free connections of individual parts, which creates a single piece, or the possibility of repair in case of damage.
This variant of a partition wall is affordable and currently very popular. The 18 mm wide tiles are mostly in the same decor as the kitchen cupboard doors and the whole unit looks very compact.
Another economically advantageous solution is wall tiling in the same decor as the work top. They are produced in thicknesses of 10 or 18 mm, where a decorative laminate is pressed on one side and a balancing laminate on the other. This variant evokes a monolithic work top.
Concrete plaster characterizes natural concrete appearance which is suitable not only on the walls but also on the floor. This material is applied on any flat surface and creates a very smooth effect. Concrete plaster can be smooth, as well as structured, matt or glossy, or can imitate metal or concrete, coloured or colourless. The advantage of this material is its easy maintenance. The surface can be washed, vacuumed or swept.
Venetian stucco or artificial marble is a special technique which will make the kitchen luxurious and elegant. The range of colours is practically unlimited and thanks to it you can choose any shade you wish. Moreover, it is abrasion resistant as well as humidity resistant, and therefore can also be used in bathrooms.
Glass / Lacobel
Glass tiles have very quickly become popular, and not only in kitchens. You can choose from a wide range of tiles, such as coloured, matt, glossy with ornament or even with a photograph of your loved ones. A great advantage is fast, simple and clean assembly, and easy maintenance.
Producers are offering more and more tiles in various dimensions, colours and structures. For example, mosaics are very popular, and are difficult to replace due to their unique appearance. A great disadvantage is their difficult maintenance due to the number of joints. On the other hand, they are highly resistant to mechanical and chemical damage.
